We’re taking a small break from spraying transformations to celebrate something happening elsewhere in the Skylon family.

Prime Sash Windows (https://www.primesashwindows.co.uk/) powered by Joinery Core has been selected as a finalist in the Smart Factory category at The Manufacturer MX Awards 2026.

And we’re incredibly proud of the team behind it.

Different specialisms, the same approach

At first glance, professional spraying and smart manufacturing might seem worlds apart.

But there is something they have very much in common: the finished result depends on the process behind it.

A beautifully sprayed finish requires preparation, controlled application, the right equipment and consistency at every stage.

Manufacturing is no different.

Prime Sash Windows has been developing a production environment that combines traditional joinery craftsmanship with modern machinery, digital processes and Joinery Core — software created to help connect and manage the manufacturing workflow.

Always looking for a better way

Across the different businesses within Skylon, we work in very different areas.

Some of us are on construction sites. Some are manufacturing timber windows. Some work with electrical systems, specialist protection or finishes.

But there is a common mentality behind much of what we do: if there is a better way to do something, we want to find it.

For Prime Sash Windows and Joinery Core, that has meant looking at how technology can make a traditional manufacturing environment more connected, visible and efficient.

The result has now received national recognition.
